Location Wind Fortress
Health 400 HP
Attack(s) Firing projectiles

G-CLONE is first and final boss of the Wind Fortress. It is a device that produces many robot clones that look like Curly Brace.

Physical appearance[edit | edit source]

G-CLONE resembles an old computer with a big monitor as its head. The other part of its body looks like scrap metal and a capsule in which Curly sleeps during the battle.

Confrontation[edit | edit source]

G-CLONE's battle is initiated by interacting with the capsule Curly is sleeping in. After a short cutscene ("?!"), the battle initiates.

Battle[edit | edit source]

Attack patterns[edit | edit source]

G-CLONE's screen opens and white projectiles fire from the top just before it closes. A Curly Clone drops from the ceiling and joins the one already in the area before the battle started. Occasionally, many Curly Clones drop in and run around the enclosed area to ram into Quote. They grab onto and throw him if he gets too close.

Combat[edit | edit source]

G-Clone's green screen is only damageable when it is open. When it turns dull, it cannot be damaged. The projectiles it fires deal 2 damage.

The G-CLONE continues to create additional Curly Clones the longer the fight goes on. It also fires white orbs similar to the ones in the second fight with Balrog. Periodically, it closes its screen when a certain damage threshold is bypassed and spawns more clones.

Post-battle[edit | edit source]

When G-CLONE is destroyed, Curly wakes from her sleep and exits the machine. Dead Curly Clones can be seen around Quote and her as she asks if he was having a party, oblivious to the actual situation.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • In the 3DS eShop port of Cave Story, after G-CLONE is defeated, a bug in text says, " Deafeated G-CLONE!8"
